Founded by Taylor Cole and Jim McLaughlin in 2002 to help Virginians realize the benefits of land conservation, Conservation Partners provides comprehensive support services to conservation easement donors, conservation professionals, and purchasers of high-quality land preservation tax credits.

Conservation Partners consults with landowners and their professional advisors throughout the complex process of donating conservation easements and preparing and registering high-quality land preservation tax credits. We have the personnel and resources to ensure the complex process of donating an easement does not overwhelm the donor, and we work to make it easy and cost-effective to comply with our Quality Standards.

Buyers of land preservation tax credits are very aware of the differences in the risk associated with credits available in the market. Land preservation tax credits marketed by Conservation Partners are recognized for their quality and are preferred by risk-conscious buyers who have demonstrated a willingness to pay higher prices for high quality credits.

Our Quality Standards and Assurances of Virginia Land Preservation Tax Credit Quality protect tax credit purchasers and give purchasers confidence that the donations they are supporting provide significant conservation benefits to Virginians.

Since its founding, Conservation Partners has worked with easement donors who have protected approximately 40,000 acres of farms, forests, and other open space land in Virginia.
